Armenian gymnast Artur Davtyan finished eighth in the vault final at the 2026 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb.
The three-time European champion brilliantly executed his first vault, scoring 14.833 points — the highest score for a single vault among all finalists. However, Davtyan was unable to successfully complete his second vault, which had a significant impact on his final result. The Armenian gymnast finished with an average score of 13.366 points and placed eighth.
Ukraine’s Nazar Chepurnyi became European champion with a score of 14.566. Alexey Usachev claimed silver with 14.399, while Great Britain’s Sol Scott took bronze with 14.199.
Thus, the Armenian national team concluded the European Championships in Zagreb with three medals. Artur Avetisyan won gold in the still rings event, while Hamlet Manukyan and Mamikon Khachatryan claimed silver and bronze respectively on pommel horse.
