Alex Margaryan wins silver at the U20 European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships

Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Alex Margaryan has won the silver medal at the 2026 U20 European Championships, which are taking place in Skopje.

Margaryan competed in the 63 kg weight category and confidently reached the final. On his way to the decisive bout, the Armenian wrestler claimed four consecutive victories, defeating opponents from Russia, France, Belarus and Greece.

In the final, Alex Margaryan faced Maksut Sultanov of Ukraine and lost 3:12, finishing the tournament as the silver medalist.

Earlier in his career, Margaryan also won silver at the U20 World Championships.
