Armenia U18 Announces Roster for European Championship Division C

Armenia’s under-18 basketball team has announced its roster for the European Championship Division C. The tournament will take place in Shkoder, Albania, from July 21 to 26.

The Armenian roster includes two players from the U20 national team, which completed its European Championship campaign a few days ago: Amassia Dayian and Andrew Federspiel.

Anthony Sarkesian, a U16 European Championship Division C winner and the Most Valuable Player of that tournament, will also represent the team.

The roster features six players from the United States, three from Armenia and one each from Russia, Spain and the United Arab Emirates.

Edgar Aghabekyan, Leonard Martirosian, Andrey Vognerubov, Arman Gilanians, Anthony Srkesian, Davit Kakoyan, Michael Nishanian, David Parrott, Amassia Dayian, Edgar Mkrtchyan, Andrew Federspiel and Artur Avagyan.

The team’s head coach is Areg Vatyan, assisted by Tovmas Ordanyan.

Armenia will begin its campaign against Gibraltar on July 21. The game will tip off at 5:30 p.m. Yerevan time. The Armenian team will also face Andorra and Kosovo in the group stage.

Ahead of the competition, Areg Vatyan said Armenia intends to compete for the tournament title and promotion to Division B.
