Armenian First League Begins with Big Wins for BKMA-2 and Andranik

The opening matches of the 2026/27 Armenian First League season were played on August 3. The new campaign began with two emphatic victories, while several clubs made their debuts in the competition.
One of the highest-scoring matches of the opening round saw BKMA-2 face Lernayin Artsakh. The Yerevan side scored four unanswered goals against their opponents. Gor Grigoryan netted a brace, while Artak Galstyan and Erik Vuvunikyan added one goal each.
The match between Ararat-2 and Andranik ended with the same scoreline. The club representing Gegharkunik claimed a convincing 4–0 victory. Davit Giasyan scored twice, with Erik Petrosyan and Ararat Chilingaryan also finding the net.
Olympia also enjoyed a successful debut in the Armenian First League. Roman Simonyan’s team played its first professional match in Ashtarak and defeated Aras Ozbiliz’s Urartu-2 side 2–0. Denilson Carvalho da Silva scored both goals.
Sardarapat-2 also recorded its first victory in the competition. Yesayi Baghramyan scored the only goal of the away match against Shirak-2 in the 86th minute.
Pyunik Academy earned a narrow 1–0 victory over Ararat-Armenia-2. The most closely contested and highest-scoring match of the round was played between Noah-2 and Mika, with the visitors securing a 3–2 win.
Meanwhile, Hayk’s opening match was cancelled. According to preliminary information, the club may withdraw from the Armenian First League, although no official confirmation has yet been issued.
