19-year-old winger Roony Bardghji, who has Armenian roots, has joined FC Barcelona. The Catalan club announced a 4-year deal with the player, running until June 30, 2029.
According to Barcelona’s official statement, the transfer was agreed with FC Copenhagen. The Spaniards paid €2 million for the Kuwait-born Swedish player, plus a percentage of any future sale.
Bardghji, who plays on the right wing, is known for his technique, speed, and productivity. Despite a serious injury that kept him out for nearly a year, Roony managed to play 84 matches for Copenhagen's first team, scoring 15 goals and providing 1 assist. He has won three Danish league titles and two Danish Cups.
According to Sportaran, Roony’s younger brother — 15-year-old Ryan Bardghji, who plays in Copenhagen’s youth system — may also join Barcelona’s academy.
Thus, Barcelona has secured one of Europe’s most promising young talents, who, in addition to Swedish citizenship, also has Armenian heritage.
