While footballing Europe is buzzing over Runi Bardghji’s potential move to Barcelona, another equally interesting story is flying under the radar: his younger brother, Ryan Bardghji, is also joining the Catalan club’s youth academy. This has been reported by Spanish media.
At just 15 years old, Ryan is already considered one of the most promising talents in Copenhagen’s youth system. This season, he’s performing well with the U17 team and has also been called up to Sweden’s youth national team. However, given the Bardghji family's Armenian heritage, the question arises: which national team will he choose in the future?
Sportaran.com previously reported that the Bardghji brothers’ father is of Armenian descent, and their grandfather on the paternal side was an Armenian from Aleppo, Syria. This was confirmed by Albert Tamoyan — a young forward from Helsingborg and a friend of the Bardghji family.
Due to Ryan’s age and the absence of senior international matches, he remains eligible to choose his national team. This presents a real opportunity for the Football Federation of Armenia — perhaps now is the time to reach out to this talented youngster.
While Runi Bardghji is already on the verge of becoming a Barcelona player, Ryan is just beginning his journey. But it’s already clear: this surname represents more than just footballing talent.
The Bardghji transfer to Barcelona is expected to be officially announced soon.
