Jean-René Aghajanyan to leave Nürnberg II at the end of the season

21-year-old Armenian midfielder Jean-René Aghajanyan will leave the German club Nürnberg II in the summer of 2025. The official account of the club’s academy confirmed that his contract expires at the end of the season and will not be extended.

Aghajanyan spent two years with Nürnberg, playing for the reserve team in the Bavarian Regional League (Germany’s fourth division). This season was plagued by injuries — the attacking midfielder made only 9 appearances and scored 1 goal. Last season, he had a stronger performance, scoring 3 goals and providing 5 assists.

Jean-René was born in France but has played in Germany since a young age. He spent three seasons in the youth academy of Kaiserslautern and has made one appearance for Armenia’s U19 national team.

Earlier, it was reported that another Armenian player, Anthony Sardaryan, will also leave Nürnberg at the end of the season.
