Al Ahli Release Official Medical Update on Eduard Spertsyan's Injury

Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli have issued an official statement regarding the condition of Armenian midfielder Eduard Spertsyan, who sustained an injury during the AFC Champions League match against Al Sadd.

According to the club's statement, the Armenia national team captain suffered a thigh muscle injury during the team's most recent match.

Spertsyan is currently continuing his treatment and rehabilitation under the joint supervision of the medical staffs of Al Ahli and the Armenian national team.

The club has therefore officially clarified the nature of the midfielder's injury. Earlier reports had suggested that Spertsyan was dealing with an Achilles tendon problem.

Due to the injury, the 26-year-old midfielder will miss Armenia's final UEFA Nations League group-stage matches against Cyprus and Latvia.

The official statement did not specify an exact timeline for the player's return to action.
