On March 26, 2025, the Asian Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship concluded in Amman, the capital of Jordan. Iran claimed first place in the team standings, while Uzbekistan also delivered a strong performance, securing second place and surpassing Japan.

Aram Vardanyan (77 kg weight category) from the Uzbek national team became the Asian Champion. He is the cousin of the famous MMA fighter Eduard Vartanyan.
