Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Yurik Petrosyan has won a silver medal at the U20 World Championships in Bratislava.
In the 87 kg final, the Armenian representative faced Japan’s Taizo Yoshida and lost 0-8.
On his way to the final, Petrosyan defeated wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan, Iran and Austria.
The Armenian faced a highly accomplished opponent in the gold-medal bout. Yoshida had previously become Asian champion at senior level and also won a bronze medal at the senior World Championships.
Armenia has now won two medals in Bratislava — one gold and one silver. Earlier, Samvel Terteryan became the U20 world champion in the 77 kg weight category.
