In just four days, Yerevan will host one of the largest sporting events of the year — the 60th EKF European Karate Championship, recognized as an Olympic sport. The tournament will take place from May 7 to 11, welcoming over a thousand athletes and officials from more than 50 countries.
This will be the first time Armenia hosts the senior European Karate Championship — and it’s a historic opportunity: Armenia has never won a medal at the senior level in this sport. All eyes are on Gor Nersisyan (84 kg), the 2024 U21 European champion, who will now make his senior debut on home soil.
