Serbian giants Crvena Zvezda have officially announced their separation from head coach Vladan Milojević. The contract was terminated by mutual agreement, and as of today the specialist is no longer in charge of the Belgrade club’s coaching staff. As a result, Armenian national team defender Nair Tiknizyan, who plays for the Red-Whites, will soon have a new head coach.
Milojević’s farewell to the team was an emotional one. He thanked the players, staff, and fans, emphasizing his special bond with the club. Crvena Zvezda noted that the coach has forever written his name into the club’s history: under his leadership, the team achieved major successes, set numerous records, and regained its status as a regular participant in European competitions. Across two spells at the club, Milojević not only won trophies but also restored belief, pride, and a sense of unity among the fans—values that have always defined the Marakana.
The club also stressed that the doors of Crvena Zvezda will always remain open for Milojević, calling him not just a part of the club’s history, but a part of its soul.
Meanwhile, Serbian media are actively discussing the potential successor. According to Mozzart Sport, Crvena Zvezda may soon appoint Dejan Stanković as the new head coach. If confirmed, it would mark his second return to the club: he previously worked in Belgrade from December 2019 to August 2022, winning three Serbian league titles and two national cups.
Unlike his first spell, Stanković would now face a more challenging start. The team currently sits second in the league standings, while crucial Europa League matches against Malmö and Celta lie ahead. Additional context surrounding the potential appointment is Stanković’s recent departure from Spartak Moscow, where his tenure ended prematurely.
There has been no official confirmation regarding the new head coach yet, but one thing is clear: a new chapter is beginning for Nair Tiknizyan and Crvena Zvezda—one that could significantly influence the remainder of the season.
In the current Serbian SuperLiga season, Crvena Zvezda are in second place, one point behind Partizan. In the Europa League, they sit 17th in the overall table after six rounds and remain in contention for a playoff spot.
