Ararat-Armenia head coach Manuel Tulipa commented on the Europa League league-phase draw and spoke about the team’s priorities for the season.
“At the moment, all my attention is focused on the Armenian championship. Nevertheless, we are going to face some familiar teams: we played Sparta last year, while this year we faced Celje. There are also some renowned European clubs, for whom we have great respect.
Every match will be a different story, and we need to prepare thoroughly for every opponent. In the Europa League, we will have no room for error. I also really want us to approach these matches in optimal physical condition and without any players missing.
But I would add that, at the moment, our main goal for the season is to become Armenian champions again,” Tulipa said at a press conference after the match against Pyunik.
In the Europa League league phase, Ararat-Armenia will face Milan, AZ, Salzburg, Jagiellonia, NEC, Celje, Sparta and Torreense.
As a reminder, Ararat-Armenia defeated Romania’s Universitatea Craiova in the play-off round and became the first Armenian club in history to reach the Europa League league phase.
