European U23 Judo Championships Kick Off: Results of the First Day

On October 31, the 2025 European U23 Judo Championships began in Chișinău, the capital of Moldova. On the first day, seven sets of medals were awarded.
Armenia’s representative, Vahe Aghasyan (–60 kg), stood out by becoming the European champion. This is Armenia’s first gold medal at the U23 European Championships since 2003.
In addition to the Armenian judoka, gold medals were also won by athletes from Hungary, Azerbaijan, Romania, Finland, Italy, and France.
The French national team won the most medals on the first day — 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze.

The tournament will conclude on November 1 with the remaining weight categories. Armenian judoka Gor Karapetyan (100 kg) will still compete for the national team.
