Spartak Mikayelyan — MMA World Champion among adults

Armenian fighter Spartak Mikayelyan (weight class up to 74.8 kg) won the gold medal at the 2025 IMMAF MMA World Championship held in Tbilisi.

In the decisive bout, the 21-year-old athlete scored a spectacular victory over Nigeria’s Benjamin Edozi, finishing the fight with a choke submission.

On his way to the title, Mikayelyan fought five times and won all of his matches: twice by choke submission, once by knockout, and twice by judges’ decision. His opponents came from the Czech Republic, Nigeria, Denmark, Kazakhstan, and Ireland.

Earlier, Spartak Mikayelyan had already become a world youth champion, and now he has confirmed his class at the adult level.

Armenia finished the tournament with two medals, as Arthur Asoyan had previously won bronze.
