Spartak Mikayelyan reaches the final, Artur Asoyan wins bronze at the 2025 MMA World Championships

On September 30, the semifinals of the 2025 IMMAF MMA World Championships took place in Tbilisi. Armenian fighters delivered impressive performances: one advanced to the final, while another secured a podium finish.
In the 74.8 kg weight division, Spartak Mikayelyan defeated Kazakhstan’s Dmitry Yarkov by unanimous decision, booking his spot in the final.
In the decisive bout on October 2, Mikaelyan will face Nigeria’s Benjamin Edozi.

On his way to the final, the 21-year-old Armenian scored four victories against opponents from Denmark, Czechia, Ireland, and Kazakhstan — two by early stoppages and two by decision. His upcoming rival Edozi also went unbeaten, winning four fights against athletes from Zambia, Tajikistan, England, and Bulgaria, all by decision.
Another Armenian representative, Artur Asoyan (56.7 kg), fell short in the semifinals against Tajik fighter Isrofil Komilzoda and claimed bronze at the World Championships.
Asoyan achieved three victories in the tournament — against opponents from Ukraine, France, and Tajikistan. The 21-year-old earned one win by knockout, one by submission, and one by judges’ decision.
