All Round of 32 pairings at the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been confirmed. A total of 32 teams have reached the knockout stage and will continue the fight for the tournament’s main trophy.
Among the third-placed teams, South Korea, Uruguay, Iran and Scotland failed to qualify for the next round. For Uruguay and Iran, this was a particularly painful end to the group stage: both teams kept their chances alive until the final matches but were unable to make it into the ranking of the best third-placed sides.
The first knockout match will take place on June 28, when South Africa face Canada at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
One of the standout ties of the Round of 32 is Brazil vs Japan. Matches such as France vs Sweden, Portugal vs Croatia, Argentina vs Cape Verde and Belgium vs Senegal are also among the most intriguing fixtures of the round.
