On October 8, in Førde, Norway, the seventh competition day of the 2025 Weightlifting World Championships took place. Only one medal event was held that day — the women’s 77 kg category. For men, groups C and B of the 94 kg class competed, with the final scheduled for October 9.
After five women’s weight classes dominated by North Korea, this was the first day without a DPRK winner — as there were no North Korean lifters in the 77 kg category. Previously, DPRK athletes had claimed five consecutive gold medals.
The world champion was Olympic gold medalist in the former 71 kg division, Olivia Reeves (USA). The American set three world records and won decisively, finishing 25 kg ahead of silver medalist Sara Ahmed (Egypt). Mari Sánchez (Colombia) took the bronze.
Armenia’s Anna Amroyan, competing in Group B, finished 13th overall with a total of 230 kg (110+120).
