Armenia U17 snatched a stoppage-time victory over Liechtenstein

Armenia U17 ended its home tournament in the second round of UEFA Euro U17 qualifying with a 2-1 victory over Liechtenstein.
The Armenian team opened the scoring as early as the 12th minute: Andranik Yervandyan struck accurately to put the hosts in front. In the second half, Liechtenstein managed to restore parity, with Wolf scoring in the 77th minute.
The decisive moment came in the final minute of stoppage time. In the 90+7th minute, Yervandyan confidently converted a penalty, completing his brace and securing a dramatic 2-1 win for Armenia.

In the parallel match, Hungary defeated Luxembourg 1-0 and finished the tournament in first place.
Following their performance in Group 5 of League B, Armenia U17 collected 4 points and finished third. Luxembourg also had 4 points and finished second.

Andranik Yervandyan became the group’s top scorer with three goals. Arsen Arakelyan scored Armenia’s other two goals in the tournament.
Hungary, who finished first, will continue their campaign in the elite round of qualifying. Armenia U17 will begin preparations for the next cycle, which starts in autumn 2026.
In the 2026/27 cycle, Armenia will play in Group 10 of the first round alongside France, Italy, and Luxembourg.
