Sargis Begoyan and Razmik Yepremyan to fight for bronze at U20 World Championships

On August 20, the final day of the U20 World Wrestling Championships in freestyle, Armenian wrestlers Sargis Begoyan and Razmik Yepremyan successfully passed through the repechage rounds and secured a place in the bronze medal matches.
Both Armenian athletes confidently defeated their opponents and guaranteed participation in the small finals.
Reigning European champion Sargis Begoyan (61 kg) first crushed Switzerland’s Sandro Hungerbühler with a 10:0 score, then earned an early victory against Kyrgyz wrestler Askat Toktomatov. In the evening medal session, Begoyan will face Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov (Belarus) for bronze.
European U20 bronze medalist Razmik Yepremyan (86 kg) had one repechage bout, defeating Georgia’s Dachi Papinashvili 5:3. In the bronze medal match, Yepremyan will wrestle Asian senior champion Abolfazl Rahmani (Iran).
