Samvel Terteryan defeats Azerbaijani wrestler to become U20 European champion

Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Samvel Terteryan won the gold medal at the 2026 U20 European Championships, which are being held in Skopje.

Terteryan competed in the 77 kg weight category and delivered a highly confident performance throughout the tournament. On his way to the title, the Armenian representative did not concede a single point to his opponents.

In the final, Samvel Terteryan faced Azerbaijani wrestler Javidan Nakhmatov and claimed a 4-0 victory to become the U20 European champion.

It should be noted that earlier this year Terteryan had already reached the podium at an international tournament, winning silver at the U23 European Championships.
