Former Real Madrid forward Raúl may join the coaching staff of the club where Armenia national team striker Grant-Leon Ranos plays.
According to Bild, the Spanish legend’s agent has proposed Raúl’s candidacy to Borussia Mönchengladbach, which recently dismissed Gerardo Seoane. The team is currently being led on an interim basis by former U23 coach Eugen Polanski, who has managed to secure the first Bundesliga points and retained the status of acting head coach.
Interest in Raúl stems from his desire to test himself in German football. Having played for Schalke from 2010 to 2012, he is fluent in German and well-acquainted with the local football scene. Moreover, the 48-year-old specialist does not demand excessive financial terms and is open to various career opportunities.
So far, there have been no official negotiations between the parties, and the coach’s representatives told Sky that there had been no concrete contacts. Nevertheless, should Polanski struggle, Borussia may consider inviting the Spaniard.
Thus, Grant-Leon Ranos, who returned to Mönchengladbach this summer, could potentially get as his mentor one of the most iconic strikers in football history.
