Ronaldinho Signs Contract with Ravenna at the Age of 46

Legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho is set to become part of the project at Italian Serie C club Ravenna.

According to Italian media, the 46-year-old Ronaldinho will be registered by the club for the upcoming season. The official presentation is expected to take place on June 23 in Miami.

“Ronaldinho is a champion without age; he will come to Ravenna. This is an extraordinary success for us,” the club’s vice-president said.

However, the former Barcelona, Milan and Brazil national team star’s return should not be seen as a full comeback to professional football. Most likely, Ronaldinho will take part in selected friendly matches, while his arrival at the club will primarily have symbolic and marketing value.

Ronaldinho is also linked to Ravenna as a shareholder. His relationship with club owner Ignazio Cipriani played an important role in the negotiations.

Last season, Ravenna came very close to earning promotion. The club hopes that Ronaldinho’s involvement will help attract more attention to the project and strengthen the team’s brand in the fight for promotion to Serie B.

Ronaldinho retired from professional football several years ago. During his career, he became a world champion with Brazil, won the Champions League with Barcelona and claimed the Ballon d’Or in 2005.
