Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan sustained an injury in the first half of the Serie A top clash against Napoli. In the 30th minute, the Armenian player damaged the muscles in the back of his left thigh while attempting to stop Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s breakthrough, which resulted in a penalty for the Neapolitans.
After the collision, Mkhitaryan felt sharp pain and was unable to continue the game. Head coach Simone Inzaghi was forced to make an early substitution, bringing on Piotr Zieliński in the 32nd minute.

According to the preliminary diagnosis, the midfielder has issues with the flexor muscles of his left thigh. In the coming hours, Mkhitaryan will undergo additional medical examinations to determine the exact extent of the injury and the expected recovery time.
Mkhitaryan’s injury is a serious blow for Inter, as the Armenian midfielder has been one of the team’s key players this season, known for his consistency and experience in midfield. The club hopes that the injury is not serious so that he can return to the pitch as soon as possible.
Up next for Inter are Serie A matches against Fiorentina and Verona, as well as a Champions League clash against Kairat. Mkhitaryan is likely to miss these games.
