The clash between Inter and Napoli turned unfortunate for the Milan side — in the 30th minute, midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan was forced to leave the pitch due to an injury.

The incident occurred shortly after a penalty was awarded, when the Armenian player, having put in great effort in a battle for the ball, suddenly felt pain and went down on the grass. The medical staff provided immediate assistance, but after a brief examination it became clear that Mkhitaryan could not continue.

It was right after this moment and Mkhitaryan’s foul on Di Lorenzo that a penalty was awarded, which Kevin De Bruyne successfully converted.

Inter’s head coach Cristian Chivu reacted promptly by bringing on Piotr Zieliński and adjusting the team’s tactical setup. The loss of the experienced midfielder was a serious blow for the Nerazzurri, who were just starting to gain momentum in the game.

According to preliminary reports, the nature of the injury is still being clarified, and upcoming medical examinations will determine Mkhitaryan’s recovery timeline. Inter’s staff plan to proceed with utmost caution to avoid any risk of recurrence and ensure the player’s full recovery ahead of key Serie A fixtures.
