On April 15, the second legs of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals concluded. As a result, all semi-final participants of Europe’s premier club competition have been determined. The race for a place in the final will feature Bayern vs Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal vs Atletico.

Bayern – Real Madrid 4:3 (6:4 on aggregate)

In Munich, fans witnessed a true Champions League classic. After a narrow defeat in the first leg, Madrid started aggressively — in the 34th second, Arda Güler intercepted a poor pass from Manuel Neuer and scored from long range.

However, the hosts quickly responded. Aleksandar Pavlović equalized after a corner delivered by Joshua Kimmich, restoring Bayern’s aggregate advantage.

The first half turned into a goal festival:

  • Güler completed a brace with a stunning free-kick.
  • Harry Kane calmly finished his chance to put Bayern back in front.
  • Kylian Mbappé, the tournament’s top scorer, converted Vinícius Júnior’s pass after the Brazilian had earlier struck the crossbar.

In the second half, the tempo slowed slightly, but tension kept rising. A key moment came in the 86th minute when Eduardo Camavinga was sent off.

The decisive moments came late:

  • 89th minute — Luis Díaz curled the ball beautifully into the far corner, giving Bayern the aggregate lead.
  • 90+4 minute — Michael Olise clinically finished a counterattack to seal the dramatic tie.

Michael Olise was named Man of the Match for his dangerous attacking play and decisive finish.

In the semi-finals, Bayern will face Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal – Sporting 0:0 (1:0 on aggregate)

London composure brings historic achievement

At the Emirates, fans saw a more restrained but equally tense match. After winning the first leg, Arsenal focused on controlling the tempo and minimizing risks.

The hosts dominated possession, while Sporting created danger through quick counterattacks. Geny Catamo hit the post late in the first half, and Maximiliano Araújo missed the far corner after the break.

For Arsenal, Gabriel Martinelli, Noni Madueke, and Leandro Trossard had chances — the Belgian also hit the post in the 84th minute. However, the score remained goalless.

The draw sent Arsenal into the Champions League semi-finals for the second consecutive season — a first in the club’s history.

Martin Zubimendi was named Man of the Match for his work in midfield alongside Declan Rice.

In the semi-finals, Arsenal will face Atletico Madrid.
