After the dismissal of Gerardo Seoane as head coach of Borussia Mönchengladbach, the club entrusted the managerial duties to Eugen Polanski. The 39-year-old specialist, who previously worked with the Foals’ reserve team, will temporarily guide the first squad.
Polanski is well acquainted with Armenian national team striker Grant-Leon Ranos. Under his guidance, the forward played 12 matches for the U23 side, scoring 6 goals and providing 6 assists. Now the question arises: how much playing time will the new interim head coach be willing to give Ranos in the Bundesliga?
Back in 2023, Polanski highly praised the qualities of the Armenian striker:
“In the mind of a player who isn’t part of the Bundesliga squad, there is always something going on. It’s important that disappointment transforms into positive energy – and he showed that in the last few games. Only in this way can he improve his game and progress in his career.
Grant is a player who positions himself well between the lines. He sees space, has a good long-range shot, and of course, played an important role on Saturday. I’m sure this is vital for a striker. Every goal helps.”
The upcoming matches will show whether Polanski can change the situation in the club and what role Ranos will have in his plans.
