Former head coach of Yerevan’s “Noah”, Rui Mota, has left Bulgarian club “Ludogorets”. The Razgrad side confirmed that negotiations are underway for an early termination of the contract with the Portuguese specialist and his staff.
According to Ludogorets’ press office, the team will be led in tomorrow’s Bulgarian Cup match against “Chernomorets” (Burgas), scheduled for 13:30 in Nessebar, by the head coach of the club’s second team, Todor Zhivondov.
The club’s management stated that the decision to part ways was due to unsatisfactory results and the team’s level of play in recent months, which did not meet Ludogorets’ high standards of recent years.
Rui Mota took charge of Ludogorets in the summer of 2025, shortly after leaving “Noah”, with whom he won the Armenian Premier League title. Under his leadership, the Bulgarian side reached the group stage of the Europa League, earning 3 points after three rounds — a victory over Malmö and defeats to Real Betis and Young Boys.
In the Bulgarian league, Ludogorets currently sits fourth with 6 wins and 5 draws in 12 matches — a result deemed unsatisfactory by the club’s management.
