Former head coach of FC Noah Yerevan, Rui Mota, has officially been appointed as the new manager of Bulgarian powerhouse Ludogorets, the club's press service from Razgrad announced.
According to the Bulgarian side, Noah received compensation for the early termination of the Portuguese coach's contract, although the financial details remain undisclosed.
Mota’s entire coaching staff has joined him in Bulgaria: André Santos and Luís Felipe Barbosa have taken on assistant roles, Bruno Freitas became the goalkeeping coach, while Pedro Elias and João Frazao joined the analytics department.
Rui Mota replaces Serbian coach Igor Jovanović as the head of Ludogorets.
“It’s a great honor for me to be part of Ludogorets — a club with a name and history. I’m happy to join this football family. My team and I will work hard to achieve our ambitious goals,” said Mota.
The 46-year-old Portuguese coach led Noah for one year. Under his guidance, the team won its first-ever Armenian Premier League title and also claimed the national cup. Previously, Mota coached in Georgia, heading Gori-based club Dila.
According to Sportaran, Noah’s new head coach will be Croatian Sandro Perković, who has previously worked within Dinamo Zagreb’s system.
