Armenia national team forward Norberto Briasco Balekian has become a player of Barracas Central. The 29-year-old striker joined the club from Boca Juniors on loan until the end of 2026. The loan deal was completed without a transfer fee and without a purchase option.

In the upcoming season, Barracas Central will take part in the Copa Sudamericana, which represents an important milestone both for the club and the player. Earlier reports linked Briasco with a move to Gimnasia Mendoza, but the footballer declined that option and chose a more prestigious project.

Last season, Briasco played for Gimnasia La Plata. His career also includes spells at Huracán, where he made his professional debut in 2016. With the Armenia national team, the forward has earned 18 caps, featuring in FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship qualifiers, UEFA Nations League matches, and international friendlies.

Briasco has solid experience in the Copa Sudamericana:

It is also worth noting that Barracas Central features another player of Armenian descent, Máximo García Zelarayán, adding an Armenian touch to the club’s new season.
