Armenia national team winger Edgar Sevikyan will continue his career in Spain. The 25-year-old Ferencváros player has joined Ceuta on loan. The club competes in La Liga 2, the second tier of Spanish football.

The agreement runs until the end of the 2026/27 season. Both clubs have officially announced the move.

Ceuta highlighted the attacking qualities of the Armenian international, who can operate both as a right winger and an attacking midfielder.

“Sevikyan stands out for his excellent shooting, particularly from medium and long range, as well as his vision, ability to provide assists and play passes between the lines,” the Spanish club said in its statement.

Sevikyan has made just two appearances this season, spending a total of 61 minutes on the pitch.

Overall, the Armenia international has played 21 official matches for Ferencváros, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He also won the Hungarian league title with the club.

Sevikyan joined Ferencváros in the winter of 2024 and made his debut on February 3 in a 3-1 league victory over Kisvárda. The Armenian footballer later had two loan spells in Russia, first with Moscow’s Lokomotiv and then with Akron Tolyatti.

It was previously reported that Sevikyan was close to completing a permanent move to Israeli club Hapoel Petah Tikva for around €1 million, but the deal ultimately fell through.

Sevikyan returns to Spain

Spain is already a familiar country for Edgar. He previously spent four years in the Levante system and later played for the Valencia-based club’s reserve team.

Sevikyan is now returning to Spanish football as a Ceuta player.

Interestingly, he will not be the first Armenian footballer to have links with the club from the Spanish enclave in North Africa. Armenia youth international Grigor Aleksanyan previously trained in Ceuta’s academy and now plays for an amateur team in France.

Sevikyan will therefore become the second Armenian footballer in the club’s history.

It is also worth noting that Armenia national team striker Hrant-Leon Ranos, who represents Tenerife, also plays in Spain’s Segunda División.
