Norberto Briasco-Balekian led Barracas Central to the 1/16 finals of the Copa Argentina

Armenian forward Norberto Briasco-Balekian helped Barracas Central reach the Round of 32 of the 2026 Argentine Cup.

The 29-year-old striker came on in the 64th minute of the Round of 64 match against Temperley. Regular time ended in a 2–2 draw, and the winner was decided in a penalty shootout.

Briasco-Balekian confidently converted his spot kick, as Barracas Central won the shootout 4–3.

In the Round of 32, the Armenian footballer’s team will face the winner of the Huracán vs Olimpo tie.

It is also worth noting that the 2026 Argentine Cup features a club from the Armenian community — Deportivo Armenio, which will face Vélez Sarsfield in the Round of 64.
