Noah claimed a commanding victory over Ararat in Matchday 26 of the Armenian Premier League. Sandro Perković’s side defeated their opponent 8-3 and continues to fight for the championship title.
The main heroes of the match were Mateus Aiás and Marin Jakoliš, who both scored braces. Hélder Ferreira, Nathaniel Santini, Nardin Mulahusejnović and Imran Oulad Omar also found the net for Noah.
For Noah, this result continued an impressive goalscoring run. The team has now scored 20 goals in its last four matches. For comparison, that is three goals more than Shirak have scored during the entire current Armenian league season.
Ararat managed to respond with three goals, but they only reduced the deficit. Doumbia, Ouattara and Lulukyan scored for the team. Despite showing attacking efficiency, Ararat’s defence once again failed to cope with the opponent’s pressure, and the defeat left the club at the bottom of the table.
After this victory, Noah kept their hopes of winning the title alive. The team still has two key matches ahead — the postponed fixture against Pyunik and the final-round game against Urartu. If Sandro Perković’s side wins both matches and leaders Ararat-Armenia drop points against Gandzasar, Noah will become the champions of Armenia.
Otherwise, the advantage will remain with Ararat-Armenia, who are in a stronger position before the end of the season.
For Ararat, the situation remains extremely difficult. The team risks being relegated to the First League for the first time in its history. The club’s fate will be decided in the final round against BKMA, while Shirak, who hold a one-point advantage, will face Alashkert.
