Armenia national team defender Nair Tiknizyan addressed the supporters following the conclusion of the September-October run of matches in the UEFA Nations League.
The defender praised the team’s commitment and stressed that the national side is still in the process of being built. According to Tiknizyan, many players in the current squad are young and do not yet have extensive international experience, but they are ready to fight for the team until the very end.
“I am proud of my national team and I want to thank everyone for this dedication, fight and belief. We are still in the process of building a team. We have many young players who are hungry for victories, and most of them still do not have much experience.
But one thing is already certain — every one of them is ready to fight until the end and give everything for our national team and our country.”
Tiknizyan also emphasized that the players believe in the path they have chosen and understand that there is still a lot of work ahead.
“We believe in our path, we believe in each other, and we know that we still have a lot of work to do. We are all looking forward to the national team’s matches in November. The most interesting and the most difficult part is still ahead of us. Come on, Armenia!”
Armenia played four Nations League matches during the current international window. Yeghishe Melikyan’s side began the campaign with a 2-0 victory over Latvia, before losing 2-3 to Montenegro and suffering another defeat against Cyprus. Armenia then concluded the run with a 0-0 away draw against Montenegro.
Nair Tiknizyan played every minute of all four matches and wore the captain’s armband from the start in the away game against Montenegro.
The national team’s next matches will take place in November, when the battle in Nations League Group C2 continues.
