Young Defender Mark Gevorgyan Debuts for Hannover II

19-year-old full-back Mark Gevorgyan has recovered from injury and made his debut for Hannover II in Germany’s 3. Liga. He joined the German club in the summer of 2024 from Red Bull Salzburg, but due to a serious knee injury sustained before the season started, he remained sidelined for a long time.
In the 37th round match of the 3. Liga against Viktoria Köln, held on May 11, Gevorgyan came on in the 73rd minute, taking the position of right wing-back. During his time on the field, he completed 9 out of 10 accurate passes, and recorded one tackle, one interception, and one clearance. SofaScore rated his performance at 6.7.
Hannover II has one more match left this season — against Hansa Rostock — after which the team will be relegated to the Regionalliga, as they currently sit in second-to-last place in the league table. Meanwhile, the main Hannover team has already secured a spot in the 2. Bundesliga for next season.
This summer, Mark Gevorgyan and his twin brother Mike Gevorgyan will receive their first call-up to Armenia’s U21 national team.
