Mkhitaryan after scoring against Lazio: “There are a few games left, then I will make a decision”

Henrikh Mkhitaryan commented on his future after the Serie A Matchday 36 game against Lazio. The Armenian midfielder helped Inter win 3-0 by scoring his team’s third goal, and after the final whistle admitted that he was experiencing many emotions.

The final part of the season is special for Mkhitaryan. The 37-year-old footballer is going through one of the last stages of his career and has not yet announced a final decision about his future.

“A lot of emotions are going through my head right now. I’ve had a great career, I’m happy to have achieved what I have and played football at the highest level. I’m happy to have been part of Inter and to be a teammate of these guys, because they’ve extended my footballing life over the last four years,” Mkhitaryan said after the match.

The Armenian midfielder noted that he will make a decision about his future after the end of the season. At the moment, however, all of the team’s thoughts are focused on the upcoming Coppa Italia final.

“We have the last few games left, then I’ll decide. We have a big match on Wednesday, we want to prepare well and win another trophy,” Mkhitaryan added.

Lautaro Martinez: “Mkhitaryan is an example for all of us”

After the match, Inter captain Lautaro Martinez also spoke warmly about Mkhitaryan. The Argentine forward stressed that Henrikh is an important figure not only on the pitch, but also in the team’s dressing room.

“He’s an example for all of us. When I talk to my father, he always asks about the dressing room. I always point out how Henrikh works. He has the humility of someone who has had an extraordinary career. We learn from him every day,” Lautaro said.

Martinez also noted that Mkhitaryan has given a lot to Inter and deserves respect regardless of what decision he makes at the end of the season.

“I hope that whatever he decides is the best for his life and his family. He has given us so much,” the Inter captain added.

Mkhitaryan once again delivered at an important moment

In the match against Lazio, Mkhitaryan played the full 90 minutes and scored a beautiful goal in the second half. The Armenian midfielder received the ball inside the penalty area, beat a defender with a feint and struck with his left foot under the crossbar.

This was Mkhitaryan’s second goal in a row. He had previously scored in the match against Parma. At the end of the season, Henrikh is once again showing that he remains an important player for Inter and can still make the difference in key moments.

On Wednesday, Inter will face Lazio again at the Stadio Olimpico — this time in the Coppa Italia final. For Mkhitaryan, that match could be another opportunity to win a trophy with the Milan club.
