On Sunday Inter will resume their Serie A campaign with an away match against Udinese. Ahead of the game, Sky Sports spoke with the team’s midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has won 26 trophies in his career.
– "Playing against Udinese is always tough," noted the Armenian footballer. "It doesn’t matter if we’re home or away—it will be a difficult match. They are strong physically and tactically, good at defending and attacking. But we’ll do everything to win."
Mkhitaryan on Ending His Football Career
Despite being 36 years old, Mkhitaryan continues to perform at a high level and is in no rush to retire. In the interview, he shared his future plans.
– "I’d like to end my career at a strong club like Inter," said the midfielder. "However, the final decision will be made at the end of the season. For now, I’m happy here and would like to continue playing, but we’ll see how things unfold."
Mkhitaryan’s contract with the Nerazzurri runs until June 2026, but he doesn’t rule out retiring earlier if his physical condition no longer allows him to maintain his level.
– "It all depends on how my body responds," he explained. "If I can stay in shape, then why not? But we’ll discuss it when the time comes."
Previously, Mkhitaryan played for Manchester United and Arsenal and remains a key player for Inter Milan. Fans hope he will stay at the club for several more seasons.
