Melikbekyan and Kobiashvili Discuss Preparations for the 2029 Youth World Cup with Infantino

President of the Football Federation of Armenia Armen Melikbekyan and President of the Georgian Football Federation Levan Kobiashvili held a meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the FFA press service reports.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the upcoming 2029 Youth World Cup, which Armenia and Georgia have been granted the right to host. The heads of the football federations of the two countries emphasized that they regard this mission as a great honor and, at the same time, a serious responsibility.

Melikbekyan and Kobiashvili expressed their gratitude to FIFA for the trust shown, noting that the joint hosting of the tournament will be an important event not only for Armenian and Georgian football, but also for the entire region.

During the meeting, representatives of Armenia and Georgia confirmed their readiness to join efforts to organize the competition at a high level. According to them, both countries intend to use all the necessary potential to ensure that the 2029 Youth World Cup takes place in the atmosphere of a true football celebration.

Special attention was paid to the quality of organization, infrastructure, and hospitality. Melikbekyan and Kobiashvili stressed that Armenia and Georgia are determined to make the tournament memorable for the teams, fans, and the entire international football family.
