Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt claimed a historic victory over Manchester City in a league-phase match of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League season. The game, played in the Arctic city of Bodø, ended in a 3–1 win for the hosts.
Kjetil Knutsen’s men started the match at a high tempo and struck twice in the first half against the English giants. The standout performer early on was Høgh, who scored a quick brace in the 22nd and 24th minutes.
After the break, Bodø/Glimt continued to impose their style, and in the 58th minute Hauge made it 3–0 with a spectacular strike. Manchester City responded quickly, as Cherki pulled one back just two minutes later, but the visitors were unable to mount a comeback.
Further problems arose for Pep Guardiola’s side in the 62nd minute, when Rodri received a second yellow card and was sent off.
This victory was Bodø/Glimt’s first in the current league phase and could prove crucial in their bid to reach the knockout stage. The result also went down in history: the 3–1 scoreline equalled the biggest-ever win by a Norwegian club over an English side in European competition — a feat previously achieved only by Viking against Chelsea in the 2002/03 UEFA Cup.
