Armenian grappler Keith Krikorian delivered a strong performance at UFC BJJ 8 in Las Vegas. Competing in the featherweight division, Krikorian defeated 19-year-old Landon Elmore by unanimous decision and avenged his previous loss.
For Krikorian, this marked his return to the UFC BJJ Bowl after competing at the first event of the series. The Armenian athlete entered the match with a 1-0 record in UFC BJJ and improved it to 2-0 with this victory.
The match began with a brief pause following an accidental eye poke on Elmore, but once the action resumed, Krikorian quickly started to impose his game plan. Midway through the opening round, he secured a single-leg takedown before putting Elmore back on the mat again with a powerful double-leg entry.
Elmore tried to respond with attacks on the legs and repeatedly searched for an opening to set up a submission, but Krikorian defended well, maintained top position and prevented his opponent from building dangerous moments.
In the second round, the Armenian grappler scored another early takedown and continued to apply pressure from the top. Elmore remained active with his legs and attempted to create threats through entanglements and a triangle choke, but Krikorian calmly neutralized those attacks. Later in the round, he moved into north-south position and then side control, continuing to dictate the pace of the contest.
The final round went to the ground almost immediately. Elmore worked from his back, while Krikorian kept steady pressure from the top, switching between side control and north-south position. Although he was unable to secure a finish, Krikorian’s control and activity throughout the match proved decisive.
After three rounds, all judges scored the match in favor of Keith Krikorian. With the win, the Armenian representative earned his second victory in UFC BJJ and took an important step toward bigger matchups in the series.
