The international U16 boys’ volleyball tournament "Yerevan Mayor’s Cup 2025" has concluded in Yerevan. On the final day of competition, two decisive matches took place: "Yerevan-2" confidently defeated the Uzbekistan national team 3–0, while the Georgian team triumphed over "Yerevan-1" with a score of 3–1.
The tournament served as preparation for the U16 European Volleyball Championship, which will be held in Yerevan from July 23 to August 3, 2025. The Armenian national team will participate in the tournament as the host nation.
The final standings of the tournament were as follows:
1st place — Yerevan-2
2nd place — Uzbekistan
3rd place — Georgia
4th place — Yerevan-1
The award ceremony was attended by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, who presented the teams with certificates, medals, and the tournament’s main trophy. The winning team received the Yerevan Mayor’s Cup, while six of the tournament’s best players were honored with special prizes.
Teams that placed in the top three also received cash prizes:
— 3 million drams for first place,
— 2 million drams for second place,
— 1 million drams for third place.
