The draw for the CEV U16 Men’s Volleyball European Championship, which will take place in Yerevan from July 23 to August 3, 2025, was held online. A total of 16 national teams will take part in the tournament, divided into two pools.
As the host nation, Armenia will lead Pool I. Their opponents will be the national teams of Poland, Slovenia, Austria, Spain, Latvia, Romania, and Greece.
Pool II includes the teams of Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia, Czech Republic, France, Ukraine, and Hungary. Italy, considered one of the tournament favorites, tops this group.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to the semifinals to fight for a spot in the final match.
The U16 European Championship will be an important milestone for the development of youth volleyball in Armenia, offering young athletes a great opportunity to showcase their talents on the international stage.
This will be Armenia’s first major home volleyball tournament, but the country already has experience hosting international events in this sport.
In the summer of 2023, Yerevan hosted the group stage of the CEV U22 European Championship qualification, featuring national teams from Armenia, France, Denmark, and Portugal.
In 2024, the Armenian capital also hosted the international Yerevan Mayor’s Cup.
