Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been sidelined with a muscle injury and, according to preliminary estimates, will be out of action for at least a month.
According to the official website of the Milan club, the 36-year-old Armenian underwent medical tests at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano, where he was diagnosed with an injury to the semitendinosus muscle of his left thigh. The player's condition will be reassessed next week, but recovery is expected to take around four weeks.
Mkhitaryan sustained the injury during Inter’s 3–1 loss to Napoli in Serie A Matchday 8. The absence of the experienced midfielder is a major setback for Cristian Chivu amid a busy schedule in Serie A and the Champions League.
Preliminary reports suggest the Armenian will miss Serie A matches against Fiorentina, Verona, Lazio, and Milan, as well as Champions League clashes with Kairat and Atlético Madrid.
Mkhitaryan’s return is expected by late November, possibly in time for the match against Pisa on the 30th, if recovery goes smoothly.
His absence could impact Inter’s midfield creativity, as Mkhitaryan remains one of the team’s key players responsible for transitions and playmaking.
