The RCC Fair Fight organization has officially confirmed a major bout: on August 16 in Yekaterinburg, during the Fair Fight 32 tournament, MMA star Ivan Shtyrkov will face former UFC fighter Armen Petrosyan. The light heavyweight fight will be held under kickboxing rules and will be part of the first day of the "RCC Energy" sports festival.
For Petrosyan, this fight will be special – he is returning to kickboxing for the first time in eight years. The last time "Superman" fought under these rules was in 2017 in Yekaterinburg, when he defeated three-time world champion Vladimir Idrani. Afterwards, Armen focused on his MMA career, where he captured the Fight Nights light heavyweight title and signed with the UFC.
Recently, Petrosyan signed a contract with RCC after leaving the UFC.
Over the past two years, Shtyrkov has become one of the most active kickboxers, and the upcoming fight will be his sixth in this discipline during that period. The "Ural Hulk" has faced some of the best strikers – among his opponents were K-1 World Cup winner Piotr Romankevich, world champion Vladimir Mineev, and seven-time world champion Alexey Kudin. Now he will test his skills against Petrosyan, who is also a former Muay Thai world champion.
The main event of the evening will be a heavyweight title fight between Nikita Kozlov and Nikita Varyag. Five rounds will determine the new RCC Fair Fight champion and the organization’s P4P leader.
