The Russian MMA promotion RCC has officially added a big name to its roster: former UFC fighter Armen Petrosyan (8-5) has signed a contract with the organization. Thus, “Superman” returns to the fighting system where his rise to the global stage once began.
Petrosyan will make his RCC debut in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg) — the same category in which he previously became champion of Fight Nights, WCSA, and ProFC, and earned a UFC contract by winning on Dana White’s Contender Series. His debut opponent and fight date in RCC will be announced later.
Following the signing, Armen began preparing for his return in his hometown of Krasnoyarsk at the “Soyuz” club under the guidance of coach Bazarov Vali Bakhramovich. His return to light heavyweight marks not just a change in division, but a new chapter in his professional career.
Between 2022 and 2025, Petrosyan fought seven times in the UFC middleweight division. His last bout in the promotion took place in March 2025, where he lost to Bruno Ferreira. Prior to that, he suffered defeats to Rodolfo Vieira and Shara Bullet. Petrosyan also scored three wins in the world’s biggest MMA promotion.
After three consecutive losses, the UFC decided not to renew his contract.
Petrosyan’s signing is a strategic reinforcement of RCC’s roster and a clear signal of the promotion’s intent to compete actively on the international stage.
