Spain secured a hard-fought 2–1 win over Croatia in the UEFA Futsal EURO 2026 semi-final, booking their place in the final. The match ended 2–1 in favor of "La Roja".
Goals:
- Pablo Ramírez — 12'57
- Mellado — 18'42
- Rivillos (own goal) — 36'29
This will be Spain’s tenth final in Futsal EURO history, with a chance to claim their eighth title. Jesús Velasco’s men dominated the first half and led 2–0, but Croatia responded in the second with high intensity, narrowing the gap through an own goal by Rivillos.
Just like in the 2012 semi-final, Croatia came close to pulling off a surprise. They fought until the end but fell just short of forcing extra time.
The stats favor Spain: 47 shots versus Croatia’s 26, and 19 on target compared to 7. Still, the closing minutes were a real test for the favorites.
Jesús Velasco, Spain head coach:
“We had a good first half, but lost our aggression in the second. In futsal, a two-goal lead is never safe. Croatia are strong, and we had to suffer to win. But we’re in the final, and that’s important not just for us, but for Spanish futsal.”
The final, set for Saturday, will see Spain face the winner of Portugal vs France. The loser of that match will play Croatia for bronze.
