Great news has arrived from Bergamo for fans of Armenian and Latvian football. 21-year-old attacking midfielder Arman Muradyan will continue his career in Italy — he has signed a contract with FC Villa Valle, a Serie D club.
This stage came after five months of training with FK 02 and the Lena Academy in Bergamo. There he was noticed by scouts and invited for a trial. In a friendly match against AlbinoLeffe — the club where Italian national team striker Andrea Belotti once made his mark — Muradyan impressed and earned a contract offer.
It is especially important that Villa Valle cooperates with Atalanta as a feeder club. This opens up additional opportunities for the Armenian midfielder’s professional growth. In Serie D, Villa Valle will face well-known teams such as Chievo and Milan U23.
Before moving to Italy, Muradyan played in the Latvian championship for Riga, Liepaja, Grobiņa, and Super Nova. In 2022, he appeared twice for Armenia’s U19 national team.
Interestingly, football is a family affair for the Muradyans: his brother Aram Baghdasaryan (different surnames due to documents) plays in the Lithuanian championship.
It is worth recalling that former Armenia national team captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan currently plays in Italy, and there are also other Armenian players in lower leagues: ex-Armenia striker Gegam Kadimyan recently joined Sicilian side FC Sciacca, while Youri Djorkaeff’s son, Oan Djorkaeff, plays for Sanremese.
