Krasnodar captain and Armenia national team midfielder Eduard Spertsyan could continue his career in the Italian championship. According to insider Ivan Karpov, Como are showing interest in the 25-year-old footballer, while the team’s head coach Cesc Fabregas is personally interested in signing the Armenian midfielder.
It is reported that around a month ago Fabregas contacted Spertsyan and made it clear that he would like to see him at Como. A move to Italy is a priority option for the player himself, but at the moment no official offer has been sent to Krasnodar.
According to the source, further developments may depend on the future of Nico Paz. If Como part ways with one of their key players, the club could become more active in the race for Spertsyan.
Against the backdrop of interest from the Italian club, reports about a possible move to Saudi side Al-Ahli also continue to emerge. Earlier, it was reported that the Saudi club were ready to offer Spertsyan a major contract, but according to Karpov, all agreements currently exist only verbally, with no official documents signed.
The Saudi side, as noted, want to receive the player’s approval as soon as possible in order to start direct negotiations between the clubs. However, Spertsyan is not rushing to make a final decision and is waiting to see how the situation with Como develops.
Como’s interest looks especially attractive for the Armenian midfielder because the Italian club have achieved a historic result and qualified for the Champions League for the first time. Fabregas’ team finished the Serie A season in fourth place, beating clubs such as Milan and Juventus in the race for a Champions League spot.
Spertsyan remains one of Krasnodar’s main assets. His contract with the Russian club runs until 2029, so a potential transfer will depend not only on the player’s desire, but also on the position of the Krasnodar management.
