Edmen Shahbazyan returns to UFC top 15 after four years

Armenian fighter Edmen Shahbazyan has returned to the list of the UFC’s 15 highest-ranked middleweights.
Following his victory over Brazil’s Brunno Ferreira at UFC 331, the 28-year-old moved up to 14th place in the promotion’s new meta rankings. However, Shahbazyan has not yet entered the top 15 in the UFC’s traditional media-generated rankings.
The Armenian fighter previously climbed as high as ninth in the middleweight rankings in 2020. However, after suffering consecutive defeats to Derek Brunson, Jack Hermansson and Nassourdine Imavov, Shahbazyan dropped out of the top 15 in 2022.
His victory over Ferreira has allowed Edmen to move closer to the leading contenders in the 185-pound division and strengthen his position in the weight class.
Another Armenian representative, Arman Tsarukyan, remains second in the UFC lightweight rankings following his victory over Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 331.
