Armenian fighter Edmen Shahbazyan (17-6) earned another victory at UFC 331, which is taking place in Los Angeles on the night of September 19-20.
In a middleweight bout, Shahbazyan faced Brazilian Bruno Ferreira (15-5) and won by unanimous decision.
All three judges scored the fight in Edmen’s favor — 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27.

Shahbazyan executed a smart tactical game plan. He managed his energy well throughout the fight, did not allow Ferreira to impose his preferred pace and was particularly active in the closing stages of the bout. His strong finish helped Edmen firmly secure the advantage on the judges’ scorecards.
After the result was announced, Shahbazyan addressed the fans and specifically thanked the Armenian crowd for their support. He also noted that the victory was especially meaningful to him because it came in Los Angeles, where he received strong backing from the local Armenian community.
With the victory, Shahbazyan improved his professional record to 17 wins and six losses, including a 10-6 record in the UFC.
In the co-main event of UFC 331, Arman Tsarukyan will face Brazilian Mauricio Ruffy.
